Titanium Industries (Titan Kogyo) was established in 1936, it was called the International Titanium joint ventures. 1938 merged with Japan Sulfuric Acid Company and changed its current name. In the late 1930s, titanium dioxide was produced. The factory was blown up during the Second World War.
In 1949, the factory was re-established in Ube, Japan. Which produces the titanium dioxide, iron oxide, iron sulfate and the like. Its titanium dioxide production technology from Germany Connors titanium company, so the former use of "Kronos" trademark, the former commodity grades are labeled "K" letter, such as anatase titanium dioxide as "KA", rutile as " KR". Later, the company changed to the "Suntiox" trademark, and the letter of its brand name was changed from K to S. The company's titanium dioxide production capacity in the Ube factory is 128,800 tons / year, and the production of chemical fiber titanium dioxide accounts for a large proportion. The company is the second company in Japan to produce chemical fiber titanium dioxide, and its chemical fiber titanium dioxide is its fist product.
